Intensive Coronary Care Unit |
Our 36-bedded Intensive and Coronary Care Units (ICCU) serve the hospital’s most critical patients, providing close observation round-the-clock.
The types of patients cared for in ICCU are diverse. They include heart patients, medical/surgical patients and pediatric patients including neonates. Also cared for in ICCU are patients suffering from a haemorrhage disorder or acute respiratory distress, as well as those who are unstable after a surgery.
NHI has Specialized ICUs which include
- Intensive and Coronary Care Unit (ICCU I) located in 'A' wing 1st floor.
- Intensive and Coronary Care Unit (ICCU II) located in 'A' wing 2nd floor
- Intensive and Coronary Care Unit (ICCU III) located in ‘A’ wing, 2nd floor.
- Acute Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (ICCU IV) located in ‘A’ wing, 2nd floor.
- Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit (Surgical ICU) located in 'A' wing 3rd floor.
Our Staff
The level of nursing care given is intense, and so is the required training. The registered nurses in ICCU are all adept in life support, advanced cardiac support and basic and advanced electrocardiography. Additionally, they are specially trained in the use of the intra-aortic balloon pump, mechanical ventilators, x-ray equipment, arterial and central venous pressure monitoring and more.
