Round O' Clock Cardiac Emergencies |
A visit to an Emergency Department is something no one looks forward to. However, we hope this page will explain what to expect and answer some of your questions. If at any time you need more help, please ask the nurse caring for your Patient. Our staff is committed to providing Patients with the best care possible with a humane and compassionate healing touch. If you have any comments or concerns about your Patient's care and treatment, please speak to your Patient's nurse or doctor.
Please talk to the Patient's nurse, or a doctor before giving your Patient anything to eat or drink. Some tests and medicines can only be given on an empty stomach. If your patient does eat or drink something, it may delay his or her treatment.
When you arrive at the Emergency Department, the first persons you will meet with are the duty doctors and staff nurses who will assess your patient's medical care needs. Based on this information, our staff decide who gets seen by which speciality consultant. Patients are treated based on need, not the order in which they arrive. The more seriously ill or hurt the Patient is, the more quickly he or she gets treated. This is how all Emergency Departments work. After the doctor has assessed your Patient, you will be asked to register and then take a seat in the waiting room. Kindly do not crowd around ICCUs or emergency areas. Please be patient and calm and trust us. We promise, we shall look after your patient... as no one has done ever before.
After your Patient has been treated, you will be given written instructions to take home. You may be asked to visit your family doctor or to make an appointment in the hospital. If your Patient's condition gets worse or problems develop when you get home, call the Emergency Department at 65 900 900 & 65 900 000..
The Doctor may decide that your Patient should stay in hospital for further care. When a room has been assigned, you will go to the reception to complete the necessary documentation. Then, your Patient's care will be handed over to the medical and nursing staff on your Patient's unit. While you wait for a room, please be assured that your Patient will be monitored and cared for by the Emergency Department staff.
On most units, one attendant may stay overnight in the Patient's room. In case patient is admitted to any of the intensive care units like ICCU-I, ICCU-II,ICCU-III,ICCU-IV, IMCU, ARCU or Recovery Ward, then no relatives are permitted to stay. (However one relation may be permitted to visit the patient with permission of the nurse in-charge).
If you have suggestions that would help us improve our services, you may like to inform us at 46606600 or drop it in drop box which is near the reception at ground floor or speak to Mrs Chandra Zadoo patient Coordinator at phone no 011 46600700 Ext: 4067 Mob:9810684340.
